Late Start on Mondays for 2010 - 2011 School Year

The Scappoose School District has adopted a calendar for the 2010 - 2011 school year which includes a one-hour late start on Mondays. This late-start configuration will provide time for our teachers and staff to participate regularly in professional development endeavors designed to promote important gains in student achievement. The staff at each school will arrive on Mondays at the regular time and will spend an hour in teams working on instructional improvement and school-wide positive behavior support for our students. The student schedule on Mondays will start one hour later than the rest of the week. This includes the bus and drop-off schedule; all will be one hour later.

This change effects our AM and PM Kindergarten classes a little differently.  AM Kindergarten will begin one hour late (with the rest of the school) but will end a half hour later then on Tuesday through Friday.  PM Kindergarten will begin a half hour later on Monday but will end at the regular school dismissal time.  Please see the District Time Schedule below for exact times.

Late Start on Mondays begins on September 13, 2010.

To whom it may concern,

 

Once again it's time to start planning for the 2011 Warren School Carnival and Auction.

Our theme will be Fiesta Days. Together the Warren Parent Association (WPA) and Warren Staff will be hosting next year's exciting event on Saturday March 5th, 2011.

In past years the WPA has raised money to help pay for Field Trips to the Oregon Children's Theater, Art Education Programs, Swimming Lessons, Science Education, Playground Equipment, Computer Software and an Advanced Reading Program.

We are now accepting donations in the form of gift certificates, services, auction items or cash donations. Feel free to mail your gift certificates or cash donations in the self addressed envelope provided, or a parent volunteer will be happy to pick it up. You may also drop off your donation to the school during the 2010-2011 school year.

Also, please include the fair market value of your donated item. The Warren Parents Association is a 501C3 non-profit organization. Our Federal Tax ID # is 20-0193726.

Bus Barn Lost & Found

First Student has a huge lost and found at the bus barn. Coats, sweatshirts, hats, gloves, lunch kits, backpacks, and assorted items. All unclaimed items will be donated to Goodwill at the end of June. First Student's hours of operation are 6:00 am to 5:00 pm. Monday through Friday. They are located just 9/10 of a mile out of Scappoose going towards St Helens on Commercial Lane (look for the line-up of buses).
