Welcome to Scappoose,


Scappoose School District is a very special place; learning is our focus and a promising
future for our students is our goal as we emphasize
academic progress, personal growth and achievement, and community participation. Scappoose School District K-12 students are continually monitored using District assessments to check literacy and numeracy progress by using tools to diagnose and inform teachers, students and parents. We use these District data to focus the most effective support for student progress in school and in life. 

One of our major goals is that all our students be well prepared for success in high school. Students from grade 3 participate in Smarter Balanced Achievement Consortium (SBAC) state assessment at various grade levels in order to qualify for grade 12 graduation. While our English Language Arts (grades) have shown improvement this year, our Math scores declined. As a district we pay close attention to data and are reviewing our approach to math and writing skills. 

Scappoose High School will be continuing with multiple dual credit community college courses, as well as continuing an Alternative Education program to keep students in school. We will be beefing up our Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs to be able to provide more relevant Science Technology Engineering & Math (STEM) and Science Technology Engineering Arts & Math (STEAM) opportunities for our students. With the community of Scappoose preparing to host the Oregon Manufacturing Innovation Center (OMIC), which includes its hosts Boeing Corporation, Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT), Oregon State University (OSU), Portland State University (PSU), and Portland Community College (PCC), we have a mission to prepare our students to be ready to participate in these amazing opportunities. 

 Our goal is always to focus on maintaining high standards. We are constantly seeking to improve our service. You can help by volunteering, encouraging all students in their studies, monitoring homework, and reaching out to teachers. You are vital partners in our students’ success.

Notice of Election of District Board Members

Scappoose School District has three board seats that will be on the May 16, 2017, Special Election ballot.

         ·         Zone 3 – Precinct 4, South Scappoose and Multnomah County

    ·         Zone 4 – North and South Warren

    ·         Zone 5 – West Scappoose, Canyon, Chapman and Washington County

Snow Days Make-up

In an effort to recover lost instructional time due to the inclement weather, the Scappoose School District Board of Directors approved a plan and calendar revision at their January 23 meeting.  

The components of the plan are:
  • Late starts will be cancelled for the months of April and May.  No late starts after March 20.
  • Daytime Conferences scheduled for April 19 are cancelled.  This will be a student instructional day.  Evening conferences will be held for Grades 7-12.
  • Five (5) days will be added to the end of the school year.  Students' last day will be June 22.  This will be a FULL day.  Teachers' last day will be June 23.
